INTERSECTIONS EXHIBITION – OPEN CALL!

This year Architecture LGBT+ and POC in Architecture are collaborating to create exhibition INTERSECTIONS, exploring identity, place and story telling in architecture. We are looking for 15 architectural designers and/or artists to showcase a piece of work which relates to the theme - identity, place and story telling. Artists should both identify within the LGBTQ+ community and be of African and/or Caribbean heritage.

The theme could be expressed through, sculpture, model making, mapping, drawings, painting, collage, or architectural drawing with cultural reference for example. We would like individuals to apply by sending in an example of previous work or even the work they might want to display in the exhibition. This exhibition will be curated by POCinA founder Savannah Williams by exhibiting 15 chosen artists/architects work. These works will be complemented by photography taken by member of Arch LGBT+ and professional photographer Aaron Hargreaves, of each artist in relation to identity, place and story telling, to the artists choice.
Moreover, this exhibition is an attempt to showcase the powerful thoughts of queer black architectural designers and artists through their making, drawing or digital content. This opportunity is a great way for designers work to be seen and for artists to meet more artists like them.
